What we're looking for

Spectral is seeking a talented engineer who will help us build robust data & feature engineering pipelines to power our next generation of CAD foundation models. Any model is necessarily bottlenecked by the quality of its data - so the importance of this role is self-explanatory.

Responsibilities

• Build performant data pipelines to translate collected data into efficient feature representations
• As the processed data representation is tightly coupled w/ the model, collaborate with research team on design of the model
• Develop methods to automate CAD data extraction, encoding, reconstruction, and verification.
• (optionally, depending on experience) manage and steer our data collection efforts
• Collaborate with a small, elite team of researchers and engineers across domains.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in relevant engineering field. Bachelors-masters-PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, Math, or a related technical field a plus.
• Strong intuitive grasp of geometry, demonstrated through background
• Experience in graphics is a plus
• Experience solving problems that stump others. Must love the process of solving hard problems.
• High GPA in a competitive undergrad program is a big plus
• Experience with generative CAD modeling or other 3D domains, embodied AI, self-driving, or image/video/world modeling.
• Objectively impressive achievements in any domain are a big plus
• Experience working with cloud infrastructure data pipelines is a plus (but if you’re smart & motivated this can be picked up very quickly).
